Jo Morey is a novelist based in West Sussex, England. Her debut novel, Lime Juice Money / The Night Lagoon was pre-empted by HarperCollins and Harper Fiction and is released Summer 2025.

 

She is a graduate of the Faber Academy, the Curtis Brown Breakthrough Mentoring Scheme, and Gold Dust Mentoring. Finally giving in to her wanderlust, Jo took a break from her executive career to travel the world. She soon fell in love with Belize, a place that enchanted her like no other. And between the captivating beaches and remote beauty of the jungle, the seeds for this novel began to grow.

 

The manuscript for Lime Juice Money / The Night Lagoon was awarded the 2023 Claire Mannion Literary Endeavour Prize, came runner-up in the Cheshire Novel Prize, and was shortlisted for the Primadonna Prize, the Plaza First Pages Award, and Killer Nashville’s Claymore Award in the literary category. Jo was also shortlisted for Leicester Writes Short Story Competition in 2023.

 

Jo holds a BA (Hons) English and French from the University of Leeds and an MBA Business and Marketing from Ashridge Business School.

 

She is currently working on her next novel which is set on the North Island of New Zealand in a beautiful but remote beach town where a woman with postnatal depression has gone missing.
